Memorials Policies and Contract  |   The Setup Due to the intense hours and cost of raising a litter, I don't feel I am able to bring another litter in to the world, and still do them justice, at present, and my girls are all spayed/getting spayed. I may have another litter in a year or two if I find another awesome girl, but at present there are no plans for that. I will update again when the situation changes! Here at the FD rattery I strive to breed healthy friendly loving rats, that have great markings and colours. We also take in resuces and adoptions of rats of any age and background that need new homes whenver we are able. ![]() I breed first and foremost for temperament, health and type; I will not breed from a less than brillient rat in that respect!! Pretty colours and markings are nice, and I do aim to breed for them too, but health and temprement come first. The FD rattery puts love, care, and wellbeing at the top. The rats are all kept in same sex groups for company and socialisation. They are all fed a healthy varied diet and given vet care whenever needed. I give them each a weekly health check-over to catch hold of any early signs of illness. Weights and health are all recorded, as well as the health of their parents and grand parents etc (where known). All rats are handled and given daily interaction and out-of-cage-playtime with people. No one goes un-loved! ![]() Litters are carefully planned, sometimes from generations back! FD rattery keeps a select few from each litter, and the rest are up for adoption. Bookings can be made from breedings planned in advance, and homes are carefully selected. The policies of the FD rattery must be read, as well as the adoption contract that must be signed, they are in the menu at the top of the page. All baby rats are handled from day one and are well socialised friendly babies by the time they are adopted (see the litters page for quotes from happy owners). Each FD baby comes with details on their parents (and grand parents, etc, if known) and a CD with professional photos and some short movies of their life, from day one until the day they go to their new owner. Everyone and everything is treated with respect and trust here, we only strive to make pet rats even better! The Latest Updates Phoebe had a sucessful litter, all bubs have grown well and gone on to their homes, three have stayed with us here, check them out on the girls and boys page! Zable had trouble with her pregnancies and has now been spayed, along with Fern and Selena! I've lost several special ratties recently, they each have a tribute and photo on the memorial page. Skie had a very sucessful litter, all bubs have grown hugely in their great new homes!
