I love having one cage set up, the social structure between the mixed genders is awesome to watch as well, and makes for some happy well adjusted ratties!! The pic above is of a group of my old boys who all lived together happily. All have since passed on, but of course will always live on in this photo! Pedigree: Sire: Black Hooded Downunder Spotted "Shade" Dam: Dove berkshire "Phoebe" Notes: A daugher of Phoebe and Shade, and a wonderful wee girl!!! Adores her wheel, and is known for her curled tail due to that fact! RWS Ceara Birthdate (exact): 14 Jan 2008 Colour and marking: Argente Self Breeding info: Has had one litter and is now spayed Pedigree: Dam: "RWS Brooke"; Sire: "Socrates of RWS" Notes: Ceara was bred by another NZ breeder, in Auckland, and was later sent down to me. She produced my wonderful litter to Jasper, and has since been spayed and will live out her life as my darling girl. Pedigree: Dam: "RWS Ceara"; Sire: "FlyingDuster Jasper" Notes: a hunky wee guy, will potentially be bred when he's much older, but for now is my darling squish!! FlyingDuster Sparrow Birthdate (exact): 14 Dec 2008 Colour and marking: Dove berkshire-downunder Breeding info: Will never be bred; has been spayed Pedigree: Dam: "RWS Ceara"; Sire: "FlyingDuster Jasper" Notes: Sparrow was the runt of the litter, she is still a very small rat, but is healthy and happy. She was born with only one eye. Ruben Birthdate (exact): 12th March 2009 Colour and marking: Agouti self Breeding info: Will never be bred/Pet only Pedigree: Sire: unknown wild rat Dam: Bourbon Notes: Bourbon was rescued by the NZ rat rescue, and then gave birth to her litter of half-wild babies. Ruben is one of them! A very sweet boy, but his fathers genetics do make him very nervy and lacking in confidence at times, and he can find handling to be stressful despite his impeccable upbringing.
