Memorials Policies and Contract  |   The Setup The FlyingDuster Rattery "FlyingDuster Fern" ![]() Fern was always the smallest, but the prettiest of her litter. She's now the exact same size as her bigger sisters, and by no means any less pretty!
I was never going to keep her, but her big eyes and incredibly sweet face won me over. Constantly I'd just watch her f\wee face as her nose twitches on a scent, I adore her face!! The day I found her with very rattly breathing, porphyrin at her eyes and nose, and being fluffed up and very unhappy, was one of the worst days. Finding her so obviously sick and unhappy, and then her refusing to come to me, being very touchy and grumpy with me, it was heart breaking. Naturally she was imediatly put onto a course of doxycycline, and baytril soon added to the mix to stomp on her sudden respiratory infection.
It took onl afew days before Fern was happy and bouncy again, though it took longer for the rattly breathing to clear up, it was wonderful to have her bouncing out the cage door to me for her meds every day! Now a very happy chirpy wee girl, she's caught back up to her sisters weight having not gained any while she was ill.
Due to the problem she had then, I have decided that she won't be bred at all, tere is no telling that just because she's ok again now that she won't be more suceptible to problems later, and pass it on to her offspring, and so this wee sweety will stay purely as my pretty wee girl. Keep an eye on this page for new photos as she grows and devlops. She may get spayed when she's a bit older yet, we'll see. In the mean time, I love her to bits and I'm glad I kept her as well as her sisters!!
