The Setup

This was the first litter bred by the FD Rattery. Details of the babies sexes, colours, and markings, as well as a photo of each baby is below. There are a couple of other photos of the babies, and of Harmony too. Down the bottom is some quotes from they happy new owners!
Update Unfortunatly, despite the most awesome temprements anyone could wish for, almost the entire litter has had serious health problems. Both parents were healthy, and there was nothing to suggest this combination wouldn't work out. Of course the line was never continued! And never will be. These guys are all awesome bubs, but their health problems are far too great, and definatly obviously genetic. As their breeder I stand by them all, and would take any back, at my cost, in a heartbeat if their owners didn't wish to cope with any problems. I have been lucky that they all have had the most brillient owners who have cared for them perfectly. My heart has been broken so totally over this litter. I wish like nothing else it could have been better, but it hasn't been, so the least I can do now is stand by my responsibilities and love those bubs that are left. All the girls have gone, and the boys have started to go too. They aren't yet 2 years old.

Direct quotes from some of the new owners:
"They are so incredibly outgoing and friendly. FD, you done good!"
"Thank you soooo much FD. They are both just gorgeous and so well adjusted boys. It is a credit to you with the way you have raised them."
"Thanks so much FD, you've done a brilliant job!"
"I've never had such well socialised rats from anywhere before!"
"FD, you've done such a great job of raising these babies, she is so friendly and confident, she'll fall asleep in my hand or on my shoulder. She is easy to pick up in the cage (more of a case of climbing on my hand wether I wanted to pick her up or not!!!!). She is instantly lovable."
"Thanks, once again FD, I know he will be a much-loved addition to the family!"
"I have set her as the standard, I hope my babies reach that mark."
"He, is so bold and outgoing, he's very licky when affectionate."
"You did a wonderful job with them. They're very confident"
"He, is such a sweetheart. He's very gentle and curious, and just adores a head scratch. He'll sit still for ages with his eyes closed while I give him scritches."
Note that all the above comments were made within a day or two of reciving the new babies! Babies from the FlyingDuster Rattery, leave us ready to take on the world. Some of those comments are from owners who had their baby driven about 20 hours, over several days, to their new homes with them. And still the babies are confident and freindly from the first day with their new owners! This first litter is a credit to the FlyingDuster Rattery, and we are proud to have acomplished it.
